FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions: 8mm Bamboo Fiberboard
1. What is 8mm Bamboo Fiberboard made of?
It’s crafted from compressed bamboo fibers combined with bonding agents, forming a durable, eco-friendly panel. Each board is finished with a thermal lamination process, giving it a smooth, sealed surface that mimics the look of natural wood or other decorative textures.
Unlike traditional panels such as MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), HDF (High Density Fiberboard), and particle board, which often contain Formaldehyde-based resins, 8mm Bamboo Fiberboard is 100% free of Formaldehyde, making it a safer and healthier option for indoor use.
2. Can it be installed directly on walls?
Yes, it can be installed directly on walls as long as the surface is smooth, level, and even. Proper surface preparation ensures a seamless fit, especially with the tongue and groove design.
3. Can it be used on both walls and ceilings?
Yes, it’s suitable for both wall and ceiling applications. Just ensure the surface is properly prepared and that boards are securely fastened—especially for ceiling use.
4. Is it water-resistant or waterproof?
The fiberboard is moisture-resistant and can withstand direct water contact for up to 36 hours when submerged. However, it is not fully waterproof and should not be used in areas with constant water exposure.
5. Can it be installed over tiles or concrete?
Yes, it can be installed over surfaces like tiles or concrete—as long as the base is flat, clean, and dry. For better bonding, priming the surface before applying adhesive is recommended.
6. Do I need special tools for installation?
No special tools are required. Basic tools such as a saw, adhesive, level, and rubber mallet are sufficient. A power saw is helpful for clean and precise cuts.
7. Does it require any finishing or sealing after installation?
Most boards are pre-finished and ready to install. However, for added protection in high-traffic or high-touch areas, applying a clear sealant is optional.
8. Can it be installed outdoors?
No, 8mm Bamboo Fiberboard is designed for indoor use only. Exposure to outdoor conditions may compromise its durability and appearance.
9. How do I clean and maintain it?
Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the surface. Avoid abrasive cleaners, strong solvents, or scrubbing pads that could damage the finish.
10. Will it warp or expand over time?
When installed in a stable indoor environment, the board is dimensionally stable. Avoid using it in areas with excessive moisture or extreme temperature changes to prevent warping.
11. What is the maximum height of the board?
Standard stocked boards are H 280 x W 120 cm. For taller boards such as H 320 x W 120 cm, these can be pre-ordered with a lead time of 45 days.
12. Is it bendable?
Yes, the board has flexibility and can be bent to wrap around corners and round columns, making it suitable for curved applications.
